As art jewelry comes into its own in America, galleries are clasping onto the trend and finding success with the art/jewelry mix. Throughout the world, body ornamentation is an ancient and time-honored art form. Yet in the United States, jewelry as art has only recently come into its own. Such art is not the series of gold tennis bracelets lined up in a glass case at the mall. Nor is it the design of a single artist whose staff puts it into mass production. These are handcrafted, one-of-a-kind works conceived and executed by the artist with all the technical elements and aesthetics that carry it across the line into the realm of fine art. “The distinction between mass-produced jewelry and art jewelry is not just in the quantity but the design,” said jewelry artist Gretchen Kubacky of Los Angeles. “I’ve seen some stunningly high-quality designs in a department store that wouldn’t be considered fine art, and I’ve seen $5,000 diamond earrings that have no design quality to them. Art is in the eye of the beholder.” All kinds of jewelry such as wholesale costume jewelry, fashion jewelry wholesale, wholesale jewelry, jewelry supply, pearl jewelry, body jewelry Kubacky identifies her own work as “ethnicized contemporary” jewelry drawn from historical images, as well as craft and folk art. She uses sterling silver, high-quality stones and pearls, but she likes to mix them up, putting hand-made stones from India with cultured pearls–the fine and the not-so-fine–to create a more hand-made appearance. “Jewelry-as-art depends on function and intimacy,” wrote Carolyn Morris Bach, who exhibits her bone-and-precious metal jewelry at high-end expositions and in select fine art galleries across the country. “Every piece of jewelry that leaves the studio is entirely hand-fabricated by me. While I strive for perfection in my design and craftsmanship, I am not overly concerned that every form requires perfectly rounded edges or that every element be an exact replication of its counterpart. If this is art, it should be individual and unique and preserve for the viewer deliberate traces of the decisions for fabrication; the passage of the hands through materials.” Herein lies the realm of distinction between commercial jewelry and jewelry as fine art. Part of the departure lies in the purpose or intention behind the piece, whether it was made to be sold in quantity at a profit and ultimately worn, or if it was created for the sake of art–art that was hand crafted, using unconventional materials or traditional materials in unconventional ways. The closer the artist remains to the creative process, the closer the jewelry is to fine art. “The difference is the same for jewelry as it is for the other decorative arts, such as glass and ceramics,” said jewelry artist and photographer Douglas Steakley, who exhibits jewelry and other fine crafts at his Concepts Gallery in Carmel, Calif. “You can tell when they change into fine art because they cease being functional, or they become sculptural objects themselves,” Steakley said. “Still, there remains a huge gray area of pieces that are semi-functional or are artistic but identifiable, wearable jewelry.” Steakley and his wife Jacqueline founded Concepts 15 years ago as a gallery featuring the work of jewelry artists like Carolyn Morris Bach, Sydney Lynch and more. Their criteria were that each piece had to be unique, well-developed and identifiable–the artist had to create a signature. “Concepts hasn’t changed much,” he said, “except to introduce glass and photography that follow the same artistic criteria. It’s a good mix. Glass, in particular, provides a nice contrast to the jewelry. It’s larger, visually interesting and colorful. It’s also more accessible than jewelry.” Jewelry continues to make inroads into fine art venues such as galleries, high-end shows and expos, and it is creating quite a presence in the marketplace. Patina Gallery in Santa Fe, N.M., dedicates half of its expansive space to art jewelry and the balance to other fine crafts. Owned by Allison Barnett and directed by her husband, jewelry artist Ivan Barnett, the nearly two-year-old gallery is renowned for representing some of the finest art jewelry in the world. “We make a huge commitment to European jewelry artists,” said Ivan. “At lot of what I would call the cutting-edge of art jewelry is coming out of Europe. Theirs is a different, cleaner aesthetic. American jewelry artists are more decadent–not in a bad way–but there is a pared-down quality about the European designs. Americans are still tied a little more to the precious materials, largely because America is so market driven. Not to misrepresent the quality and aesthetic of many fine American artists, but Europeans are more closely aligned with our philosophy; creating surprises for people who have great sensibilities and want something way off the track.” For the past 23 years, the William Zimmer Gallery in Mendocino, Calif., has presented an “eclectic, expansive and imaginative collection of contemporary arts” in both traditional and craft media. Along with sculpture, painting and furniture, it specializes in fine art jewelry with work from Morris Bach, Lynch, Abrasha and others.

If you are like most people, you determine which articles to read or download by looking at the title. Your title is the only advertising that your article will get. For that reason, the title is the most important part of your article. You can write the world’s best article; but if it gets few, or no readers, it was time wasted. Following are 5 tactics to explode your readership and generate massive page views: 1. Never hurry through the title. Spend some time and create something compelling and interesting. Put yourself in the readers place and imagine what words would get your interest. If you find it interesting, others probably will too. 2. Use descriptive words and action verbs. Instead of saying ‘Cleaning Tips’ try to spice it up a bit. Try using, ‘Cleaning Tips to Make Your House Smell Like Springtime.’ A descriptive title like this will attract many times the readers. 3. Attract the search engines. Your title should contain your most relevant keywords. If possible, place your most important keywords near the beginning. Using the example above, ‘Cleaning Tips to Make Your House Smell Like Springtime,’ the words ‘Cleaning Tips’ are our keywords. In order to attract the search engines, we have begun our title with that term. This technique is most effective. 4. Create a list of titles. Don’t just pick one title and slap it up there. Develop a list of 5 to 10 titles and determine which is best from your list. 5. Write your article first. Many writers start with a title, and then write the article. This is a mistake. Do not attempt to come up with a title until you have completed your article. It will save you lots of time and re-writing if you do it this way. A highly effective article title will generate much more interest for your articles. And articles that grab one’s interest generate more readers, clicks, subscribers, and profits than articles with boring titles. So practice the 5 tactics above, explode your readership, and generate massive page views. Turn Your Articles Into Big Money Makers! Make Money With Your Articles Are You Making Money? FREE Ebook

Writing articles every day to publish online is an essential marketing strategy if you want to get yourself known and make money. It’s also very difficult getting started but you just have to jump in. You sell yourself through the content of your article which must be useful, interesting and informative. When you do it well and consistently, you gain credibility and people would be interested to look at your product. This means you have to write a few hundred articles for maximum exposure, especially if you’re only depending on article writing. If that’s the case, you must send your articles to the best article directories, all of which are free of charge. Write one article a day, every single day. After you’ve gotten the hang of it (about a month) make it two a day, etc. because you’d have learnt about your new product by then. Article Content To get started, write about what you know or have learnt about your product. Don’t use the verbatim draft article or press release companies often provide. It is only an example, after all. Plus, if you use them as they are, they tend to sound stiff and uninteresting and nobody’s going to read it. And in any case, somebody will already have used the text and that will get your article rejected by article directories. Yep, it’s all been said before. Find a new angle; put your own spin on the content. If you’re new to the product and market, check the speciality review sites for information and ratings. Read other articles for ideas and draft your own based on what you understood. I didn’t say copy or rewrite what you read. That’s plagiarism! Article Title and Keywords On a scale of one hundred, your article title should be between seventy to eighty characters long, no more. This is for the search engines to take an interest in you. Always put your keywords in the first four (4) words of your title and try to repeat them at the end, athough sometimes that’s not possible. A good example is my title; my keyword is article writing but I couldn’t fit it in exactly the same way and have it make sense, so I turned it around. It still works. I got this tip from J. Herring, the article marketing guy. Search engines ‘lose interest’ if they don’t find any keywords in the first four to five words of your title; that’s why long titles matter. But please remember that your titles should always make sense. Article directories will reject your article for this. Use of Keywords in Article Body and Article Length Repeat your keywords in the first line of your first paragraph and write between four hundred to five hundred words per article. You don’t need more. The ratio of keywords to article content is one keyword for every hundred words. Article Submission After you’ve written your article, proof-read it, do it again in preview mode, and one last time after you publish it (you can usually edit after publishing in most free article directories but not at EzineArticles). Send your articles to the best article directories: EzineArticles (top notch in all areas); Buzzle (tons of how-to write information and they accept fiction and poems); GoArticles (easy, good exposure & great for 1st timers); Amazines (distribute to other ezines); iSnare (pay for articles but no promotional content). Get exposure. Be sure to read the submission guidelines and stick to them. If you don’t already have one, open a Twitter account and upload your articles there as well and think about joining other social groups where you can promote your articles (not Digg and Propeller

Good essay topics are written on different subject. The discussions in essay about different subjects help the reader to learn many aspects of the essay. Essays of different era help the readers to understand the contemporary life style, language, art and culture. The art of writing good essay is facing problem in now a days because of the erosion of language skills of today’s student community. The importance of using good English at the time of writing and speaking can’t be ignored. It is language, more obviously than anything else that distinguishes man from the rest of the animal world. At one time it was common to define man as a thinking animal, but we can hardly imagine thought with out words- not thoughts that is at all precise, anyway. More recently, man has often been described as a tool making animal; but language itself is the most remarkable tool that man has invented; and is the one that makes all the other possible. The most primitive tools, admittedly, may have come earlier than language; the higher apes sometimes use stick for digging, and have even been observed to break sticks for this purpose. But tools of any greater sophistication demand the kind of human co operation and division of labor which is hardly possible without language. Language, in fact, is the great machine tool which makes human culture possible. So it is very important to use good language. The essays are mainly divided into three parts (i) the introduction (ii) the main body of the essay (iii) the conclusion of the essay. The introduction of the essay will introduce the readers about the concept, importance and the scope of the subject. The main body will cover all the areas of the essay and it is generally subdivided into many parts. The conclusion is also a very important part of the whole essay. Sometimes it is something like a concluding couplet of a sonnet, summing up all that has been said before or it may contain a brief comment upon the theme, which make it lively and give to it a sense of happy finish or conclusion. The reader then feels satisfied and is prepared to go through the next paragraph containing a new theme or topic. As to the length of the essay there is no hard and fast rule, it may be long and short according to necessity. If the theme of the paragraph is broad and if much matter is to be put into it for its exposition, the essay may be longer than usual. Conversely, if the scope of the theme is narrow and requires, as such, much less than for its development, the essay may be short. Indeed it is the scope of the subject and the mode of stating it that determine how long or short an essay should be. But as rule essays should not be unusually and unnecessarily long because in that case the reader is likely to loose the sense of unity of purpose in it. Ted Nicholas, one of the fathers of copywriting, sold more than US$4.5 million through writing salesletters. Internet Marketers make a killing through the carefully-written emails they send out while promoting their products and/or services to the list of subscribers. The teaser is that internet marketing is a billion dollar industry. What’s far more interesting to note is that most profits resulted from marketing in the written form. A good example is Ewen Chia, the leading authority in affiliate marketing who attributes most of his success through building his reputation with the use of article marketing. In one of the conference, he demonstrated his money making power by making close to a million with just one email in less than 24 hours. Could you imagine that? I started off with the different examples not to impress you, but to impress upon you that if they can make their fortune through the power of words, you can too - provided you master the use of words to the same level as they did. Back to the title, there’s some matters I have to clarify. Writing can make you rich, but it takes time. It probably took years for those seasoned internet marketers like Ewen to master article writing skills and it’ll possibly cost you the same time. The bad news is that’s not all… It also takes determination and patience - determination to complete writing your articles and the patience to last long enough to enjoy the fruits of your success. On the other hand, the good news is that all these are achievable, as long as you set your heart to article marketing and channel all your efforts in it. Trust that it will bring you the same excellent results as it did for internet marketing millionaires. I could have stopped here but I wanted to leave you with some solid advice. So read on… To accelerate your article marketing results, here are some tips you’ve probably never come across: 1. Take constructive criticisms well. There will probably be times when your readers disagree with what you’ve written. Well, it’s normal. Not everyone will agree with what you have to say. Treat those constructive criticisms as feedback to improve your article even further. 2. Include a photo of yourself in your article. Putting a face to the article gives it a touch of human-ness and uniqueness. It also gives your readers a glimpse of the author who wrote a fine piece of article. Like what you read? Listen. I’ve compiled a report, Three-Step Article Marketing Secret Blueprint, specially for my valued visitors (You). You won’t get this guide anywhere else. It seems that more and more people are being forced to cover up their body art. I honestly can’t believe it has gone this far. It seems with the growing popularity of tattoos and society some what “excepting” them, oddly enough more and more jobs are requiring their employees to cover up their body art. Which if you ask me is completely unfair. I feel that making someone cover up their tattoo is discrimination against people who have ink. I mean we are taught not to judge someone by the color of their skin, so why doesn’t this apply to someone who has a little ink on their skin? Sadly, I guess these “officials” do not feel the same way about this. They are more concerned about what people may think. USA Today is reporting that cities and school districts around the country are forcing their employees to cover up their tattoos and if they don’t it could cost them their job. The powers that be say that this new ridiculous rule has been issued to help maintain a good image. This new rule is effecting teachers, janitors and firefighters. Capt. Armando Hogan, a spokesman for the Los Angeles City Fire Department, explained the reason behind all the firefighters having to follow this rule. “We didn’t want to offend some people in the community.” If you ask me its all a bunch of bull. What about the men and women who risk their life to save someone from a fire or accident, have you they even thought about how this rule would offend them? Just goes to show that these officials are only looking at these issues from one side. Your Tattoo Friend Ashley

Written essay’s convey the knowledge, understanding and creativity of the writers. Many novice writers usually come up with the question, ‘how to write an essay?’ A systematic and creative approach towards essay writing makes the task easier. Thus a clear understanding about the type of essay and the topic of an essay would help a great deal to the writer. Dealing with a single subject is less tricky than dealing with two subjects in a given essay. Comparison essay writing consists of two subjects and the similarities and differences of each are being identified in the essay. An effective comparison essay includes a suitable ground for comparison and contrast with appealing information. The important aspect of comparison essay is that the writers should have a clear understanding about the reasons for comparing and contrasting the two subjects in an essay. Before beginning the comparison essay it is very important for the writer to make a rough draft about all the possible similarities and differences between the two subjects. This would help the writer to format the essay in such a way that it does not appear confusing to the reader. Also to make the essay more appealing the similarities should be mentioned using words like in the similar manner, same as, both, likewise, similarly, etc. whereas the differences should be stated with words like but, in other way, whereas, while, etc. The next and most important step is ‘how to write a comparison essay?’ A standard comparison essay includes the introductory paragraph which specifies the topic with brief background information about it. It also consists of introduction about the subtopics which will be mentioned in the body paragraph. Next is the body paragraph which should start with a topic sentence that gives a precise idea about the whole paragraph. This paragraph should have maximum comparing and contrasting statements about the topic. It should have supportive illustrations and necessary conjunctions and contrastive expressions while differentiating two subjects. The writer can also present the body paragraph with altering pattern in which the details can be explained on one side of the comparison and afterwards put other side opposite that. Another technique to write a comparison essay is to first deal with one subject and then specifies how the next subject compares or contrasts the previous one. The last paragraph is the conclusion which depicts the overall summary on specific similarities and differences of the given topic. It should be short and comprehensive and should influence the reader. The writers should not drift away from the topic while making the comparisons and contrast. The essay should be organized around the similarities and differences on two subjects. This helps the writers to put forth their view point about two subjects of comparison and also help them to effectively connect with the readers. A well arranged comparing and contrasting expressions in a comparison essay creates a lasting impression on the readers and gives them a wider scope to strongly consider two competitive traits of the topic. John Ballantyne A “Brand New” Maturity Some bands get popular as they get older, but their most diehard fans aren’t always happy. They claim the band has sold out to the corporate machine and aren’t writing songs about what they care about. The band “Brand New” has gotten older and more popular, however selling out is exactly what they have not done; “brand new” has simply matured as they have aged and been through more in their life. “Brand new” is a band that formed in 2000 and consisted of members all from Long Island. Lead singer Jesse Lacey, of Levittown has written most of the songs for the band. In 2001, Brand New was an immature, innocent pop-punk band that made songs in which they fantasized about supermodels. However, by 2006 Brand New has become a mature group of young men, writing songs that deal with more serious social issues, such as drunk driving. Through Jesse’s lyrics you can see how he, as well as the rest of the band has matured so much from their first album release in 2001, to their most recent album in 2006. Brand New’s first album was release in 2001 and titled, Your Favorite Weapon. This album was your typical pop-punk album filled with catchy lyrics about girls, partying and drinking, friends, and enemies. The song “Magazines” shows the childishness of Brand New at the time, in which Jesse continuously talks about how he is in love with a supermodel he only, sees on TV: “Laetitia, you destroy me, so I can’t see why I feel so lonely when you and I could be forever perfectly perfect together. I know. Broken down in my dead bedroom, stuttering to pictures of you. I know that you can always see me. I saw you staring through my TV last night.” The girl Laetitia he is talking about is supermodel Laetitia Casta who he falls in love with because he sees her on TV and in, as the song is titled, magazines. Laeticia “destroys” him because he is infatuated with her and realizes he will never be able to be with her. He becomes lonely at this thought and dreams that they can be “perfectly perfect together”. He is upset at the fact he will never be with Laeticia (“broken down in my dead bedroom”) and is speechless at how beautiful she is while staring obsessed at pictures of her (“stuttering to pictures of you”). He also dreams that while he is watching her on television and magazines that she can also see him when he says, “I know that you can always see me, I saw you staring through my T.V. last night”. Jesse Lacey feel as if her and the girl connect when he sees her image, whether in magazines or on T.V. This infatuation he has with a supermodel he has never met, as well as pleasuring himself to images of this girl, gives Your Favorite Weapon the immature pop-punk edge that they were labeled with in 2001. Still nervous and fantasizing about the supermodel he so desperately desires, he goes on to say, “Laetitia, you got my hand shaking, I’m begging you oh baby please stop breaking my heart because I got the feeling that you and I will never really get it on.” Jesse’s hand is not shaking because he is having a seizure or nervous, but because he knows that him and Laetitia will never “get it on” and therefore will pleasure himself while looking at images of her with his “hand shaking”. It is immature to have obsession with a super model especially when they seem to contain some sort of emotional attachment. The song “Magazines” is just one of many songs on this album that shows that Brand New was just a bunch of kids making music that weren’t really deep, but they enjoyed playing. Considering the members of Brand New were in their late teens and early twenties when they created Your Favorite Weapon, their music was childish. However, by 2006 Brand New had grown into adults and released their most recent album, The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me. It is rumored that the whole album is about the tragic death of Katie Flynn, the flower girl in a wedding. After the reception, Flynn was being driven to a hotel. Their limousine was struck by a drunk driver heading in the wrong direction on the Meadowbrook parkway, and the seven year old Katie, was killed. While it is unknown whether they knew Flynn personally, the story was a tragic and popular story in their hometown on Long Island. While it is disputed as to whether the whole album is about this tragedy, the song cleverly titled, “Limousine” is undoubtedly about the accident: “K, here’s your ride. Get your petals out and lay them in the aisle Pretend you are God, and grow, And that it’s your own day to wed We’ve found your man. He’s drinking up. He’s all-American, and he’ll drive. He’s volunteered with grace to end your life.” This lyric from the song refers to the limousine they take to the wedding (“K, here’s your ride) and introduces Katie, who was the flower girl in the wedding (“Get your petals out and lay them in the aisle”). Then goes on to introduce the killer (“We’ve found your man”) and explain that he is drunk and has made the choice to drink and drive and thus the choice to end Katie’s life (“He’s drinking up…..and he’ll drive. He’s volunteered with grace to end your life”). Toward the end of the song he counts how many times he repeats the last line and ends Brand New throughout the album, but especially this song take a very serious approach to drunk driving and prove through their lyrics how devastating it is. Showing “Magazines” from Brand New’s first album, “Your Favorite Weapon”, and “Limousine” from their most recent album, “The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me” prove how much Brand New has certainly matured as a band. These two tracks prove that Brand New has absolutely matured as a band over the past five years. The band started young, writing about falling in love with images of a supermodel and pleasuring oneself to them. Upon reaching adulthood, the band matured and their music followed suit. They took on much more serious topics, such as how big of a problem drunk driving is, as well as citing a tragedy from their hometown as an example of the problem. Brand New has grown as a band rapidly over the past five years and will continue to mature even more with each album because they will become wiser and more aware of society over time. In several songs that the band has made, they take a very strong stance against drunk driving and I expect them to become stronger advocates against drinking and driving in the future. While the type of music they play may change slightly, the substance and meaning will still exist. Bibliogrphy Brand New, and Jesse Lacey. “Magazines.” Your Favorite Weapon. Razor & Tie, 2001. Do not let anyone kid you. Article marketing is one of the most powerful tools there are for traffic generation. What is even better is that the traffic you get from article marketing is both long-lasting and highly targeted. You get fewer tire kickers from article marketing. Also, when someone clicks through the link on your article to your webpage, you can bet they’re already pre-disposed to be interested in what you’re offering, be it just more information, CPA offers, or even buying an expensive coaching program. Unfortunately, when it comes to article marketing, a lot of people do it wrong, and it doesn’t work for them. The problem is not with article marketing, however. So that you don’t make these same mistakes, let’s learn how to do article marketing right. For the purposes of this article, we’re assuming that you’re not writing articles just to get your name in print, or just to entertain or even teach people. We’re assuming that article marketing is part of a money making venture for you. Basically, you’re using it to drive traffic to some sort of web page, be it a squeeze page, sales letter, or a blog. In other words, you have an action you want your reader to perform when they get to the bottom of the article…click through to your “money site”. Just making this realization should make your article marketing efforts two or three times more effective. You see, an article is not just information. It’s essentially a sales letter. You’re trying to sell your reading on taking action when they’re done. If you look at an article as if it were a sales letter, then, of course, the most important part is the headline. Right there is where you’re going to hook your readers. Look at the headline of this article, “How to Write an Effective Ezine Style Article.” That headline does several things. One, it weeds out the folks who are not interested in writing these sorts of articles. They’re not going to be interested in clicking through to your website, so who cares about them! Two, it makes a promise, that hopefully the article fulfills. It’s going to teach you how to do something. “How to” headlines are some of the most effective headlines around. People use the Internet for information. Telling them how to do something they want to do is exactly what your hungry readers are looking for. Of course, if you’re promising to tell your readers how to do something, hopefully you’ll deliver. At least, you’ll deliver enough so that the reader thinks there’s more to learn, if they click on your link. This is why a lot of your best article marketers never actually nail down the end of their articles with a heavy conclusion. They want the reader to feel a sense of needing something…like clicking on your link in your bio box. (See how this article has done that very thing?)
