The 2008 Real Meaning Of Christmas by Tom Livsey, This Christmas season, every family feels the crunch of our economy. But with the lack of clutter from the large numbers of gifts and presents under your Christmas tree, you might be able to understand the real meaning of Christmas, this year. Its the love of Christ and the love of your family and friends. The most important lesson that you can teach your children this year is to show them your love and affection,by spending a good time with them, because even when they get tired of playing with their toys,or when their toys break, they will always remember that family love is unrelenting and unbreakable. So don’t despair over the inability of buying exorbitant numbers of toys and jewelry for your family.Take comfort in being able to share a day together with them. Try doing this simple, yet very sincere thing this year at the dinner table.Have each family member and guest give the gift of thanks,by sharing with everyone at the table, their appreciation of the bond of love from your family and friends. We are all blessed to be here today.Don’t let the commercialization of Christmas throw you into a dismal depression. You must understand that the real meaning of Christmas is to give thanks to the “Newborn King”,who was born over 2000 years ago. By giving thanks to others during this time of year,is in itself part of blessing our lord and savior,Jesus Christ. Merry Christmas!
