Looking Glass Wars: Alice The Way You Never Seen Her Before…………………………….. Overall book rating: Awesome…………………………………  Okay, any one who has every visited my website, read my blogs, hubs, or just simply asked  me about fantasy books, I always go on this rant of how they are all the same. They are all Lord of The Rings knock offs and Harry otter  is too over rated, and how the Golden Compass is the only book that offered  world we have never seen before. Well I’ll save you that rant. (that’s reserved for  totally different blog) I’ll just say that some one has written something that is amazingly imaginative, addicting and offers something that we might kind of seen tried a couple times before, but never this well. The book is called the Looking Glass Wars. And it completely lived up to it’s expectations and beyond…………………………..  The book is written by Frank Beddor A man who probably is one of the luckiest guys in the worlds. He’s a skier, producer, screenwriter and now a book writer. But even thou I’m a struggling self publishing novelist myself, I will not tear this guy down  because he can really write. He does have talent and appreciate that in any person rich or not………………………..   But the book it self is set up as though every thing in Lewis’s Carol’s Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass is a lie, and that this the story is telling the truth about the real Alyss and real Wonderland……………………………….   In this book, Alyss is a princess in Wonderland. It plays out very happy go lucky in the first few chapters telling of child hood in Wonderland with her best friend Dodge, And she has magic or in the book it’s called imagination. But like always in these books something happens to change things. Her evil aunt Redd kills her parent and takes over the Queendom and Alyss must run away. In doing so, she falls into the pool of tears and tumbling into our world. Where she is trapped and over a days time, her magic fades away……………………………………………  The book chronicles Alyss’s life, the Mad Hatters search through our world to save her, Dodge’s turn to a darker person as he leads rebels to back against Redd and eventually a war  to put Wonderland back in order once more. But this is a very deconstructed and reconstructed Alice in Wonderland. I want to say that it is some what like the scifi  min series Timman that was  re-imaging of Oz. Everything is there but, newer, fresher some how more original. Alyss is not blond. She has black hair. The cat is assassin with nine lives. The card soldiers  are cards that fold out in these strange robot like soldiers. The Mad Hatter is a body guard who has hidden blades, propellers, corkscrews, toe nail clippers, among many other things hidden up his sleeves, coat, backpack and top hat making him seem very much like a  kind of inspector gadget only he is much too serious of a character for that. There are also new character like Molly and Dodge, that were never there before…………………………………………………….   So if you through with Harry and want something new or if your like me, or if you read the His Dark Materials Trilogy way back when and you still begging for more of that sort of imagination? This is for you. If your more of the Eragon, Lord Of The Rings, Dungeons and Dragons kind of fantasy reader. You might not like this. But my rating is four stars……………………………… P.S. check out my book website Lelue’s Realm at .freewebs/com/lelue/

According to YourDictionary.com, the definition of Mass Media is those means of communication that reach and influence large numbers of people, especially newspapers, popular magazines, radio, and television. In my own personal estimation, Mass Media goes along with Information and Communication Technology in this day and age so as to mold a new-fangled way of life to the majority living in this global generation. Mass Media are those media that are created to be consumed by immense number of population worldwide and also a direct contemporary instrument of mass communication. Nonetheless, Mass Media is considered as the fourth estate of the society as well. It is the fourth branch of the government. The voice and weapon of the people and the society as a whole. Then again, by and large when we speak about Mass Media, we immediately perceive that these are communications media that reach the mass of people. From Audio recording and reproduction like records, tapes, cassettes, cartridges, CDs, to Broadcasting Media such as Radio, Television, Cable, to Film or Motion Pictures whether in Cinema or in DVDs, and the Digital Media, the Internet, Mobile Phones, Satellite, and ultimately the Publishing or Print Media which includes Books, Newspapers, Magazines and the run-of-the-mill marvelous Video games. Needless to say, whatever we have in mind about Mass Media, on th whole, it is all about innovation and modernity that is continually evolving and producing ways to speed up the way humanity is subsisting. On the whole, I consider the following as the various definitions of Mass Media. Hence, it is now your turn, I urge each and every one right now if what is your definition of Mass Media. Speak your mind and spread the word!

Money is tight, but that doesn’t mean people don’t need you and your solutions. In fact, I’d be willing to bet that the people in your market need the guidance and insight you provide now more than ever. But in a recession, it takes a little more encouragement to get people to help themselves by buying your products and services. In other words, you may need to fine-tune your marketing. Here are a few tips for helping your clients and prospects buy from you. 1. Emphasize the Value You Provide If you want people to buy from you, be very clear about what you’ll do for them and how their lives will be easier. Will you save them time? Can you help them make more money? Emphasizing the value positions your product or service as an investment, not an expense. 2. Give Away Freebies Giving away a free special report is a cheap and easy way to introduce prospects to who you are and what you do. It starts building your relationship with them right away. Make your report stand out by giving your leads something (a new strategy or a few tips) they can implement easily and immediately see results. And don’t be afraid to ask your readers to pass your report along to friends and colleagues. 3. Develop and Sell Information Products Information products-like e-books, teleseminars, and group programs-are a great way to leverage your time and give people more inexpensive ways to work with you. For example, although some people might hesitate to commit to a $1,000 monthly one-on-one coaching fee, they might be happy to participate in a group program for a few hundred dollars. 4. Keep Following Up Even if a person is interested in what you have to offer, they might let opportunities to work with you slip past them during tight financial times. So now more than ever, following up repeatedly is critical. Even though you may be tempted to cut the frequency of your marketing to save money, keep e-mailing and writing your list to remind them about the value you provide and the results they’ll get from working with you. Marketing succeeds with follow up. Selling Your Services in Any Economy You chose your profession to help people be more successful, and with so much doom and gloom these days, the world needs you more than ever. With these strategies, you can help your clients and prospects see that a better way exists. When people feel comfortable and confident that you can help, they won’t hesitate to buy. And whatever you do, don’t stop marketing! Melinda Copp helps speakers, coaches, consultants, and self-employed professionals write and publish to establish expertise, build relationships with their clients and prospects, and make more money. I asked myself this question a while ago: Now that I got all these followers, how do I connect with them and get them interested in me and what I have to offer? The answer to that question is quite simple. Is the key to success in social media marketing to build a huge following? No. The key is to build a strong following of people who actually care about you and who you are. People that share the same interest in life and professionals that is in the same niche as you. There is a hole bunch of people on social media that acts like robots. They act like a machine that is programmed to do one thing and that is to sell their product or their business opportunity to everyone. We all know how annoying this is. It don’t work! You don’t sell your product that way and you create enemies instead of friends. People will unfollow you and in many cases report you as a spammer. You don’t want that to happen. Act in social media as you act in life in general Be a human being. A human being has real feelings, meanings and emotions. There is a lot off people out there that has the same interests and struggles as you do. By writing this I don’t mean that you should post all your struggles and be a sympathy seeker. If you can provide a solution to peoples struggles you are king. Share what you found out to be the solution for you when you dealt with the same problem as they deal with. Provide value What do people found valuable? I bet that you just like me isn’t a writer of novel or a person that comes up with quotes or good jokes all the time. The good thing is that there is so many great writers out there. The best ones lived in the past. Find a good quote and post it. Share your meanings on a news story, a book you read, a video you just saw or a hillarious joke you just heard. Communicate ReTweet posts that you found interesting. Reply to all DM’s that doesn’t contain spammy links. A link to connect on facebook is accepted and a good way to build a stronger relationship. Be grateful and thank people for RT and replies. Respond to your at replies as quickly as possible. Even if it is a disagreeing comment, just write “I appreciate your ideas and comments even if we do not agree.” Happy Tweeting :) Magnus Haga is a award winning master marketing consultant that assists entrepreneurs in building a 6-7 figure first year income from home. Looking to improve your article writing? Look no further than the current political landscape. Ask any political junkie what makes or breaks a candidate, and you’ll get any number of answers: public gaffs, private blunders, bad policy decisions, incredibly poor choices in friends and supporters. All have the potential to derail a promising campaign. This season, a new threat to success is strikingly clear. In today’s sound-bitten world, it comes down to being Yumi. And Yumi is all about good writing. Whether you are writing articles, speeches or site copy, one rule remains clear. Let’s look at how the three most viable candidates chose to announce their candidacy: “I announced today that I am forming a presidential exploratory committee. I’m not just starting a campaign, though; I’m beginning a conversation — with you, with America. Because we all need to be part of the discussion if we’re all going to be part of the solution. And all of us have to be part of the solution.” (Sen. Hillary Clinton, in Presidential Exploratory Announcement, January of 2007) “Today, I announce my candidacy for President of the United States. I do so grateful for the privileges this country has already given me; mindful that I must seek this responsibility for reasons greater than my self-interest; and determined to use every lesson I’ve learned through hard experience and the history I’ve witnessed, every inspiration I’ve drawn from the patriots I’ve known and the faith that guides me to meet the challenges of our time, and strengthen this great and good nation upon whom all mankind depends.” (Sen. John McCain’s announcement speech, April 25, 2007) “Let me begin by saying thanks to all you who’ve traveled, from far and wide, to brave the cold today. We all made this journey for a reason. It’s humbling, but in my heart I know you didn’t come here just for me, you came here because you believe in what this country can be. In the face of war, you believe there can be peace. In the face of despair, you believe there can be hope. In the face of a politics that’s shut you out, that’s told you to settle, that’s divided us for too long, you believe we can be one people, reaching for what’s possible, building that more perfect union.” (Sen. Barack Obama, in his campaign announcement, February 2007) Okay, pretty standard politico-talk from three bright, popular senators. Nothing too earth shattering, and in the larger global context, not all that far apart in context and meaning. So what makes the difference between written words that merely inform and ones that inspire? It comes down to simple math. Do this - go back through each senator’s opening remarks and simply count the number of times the candidate mentions “Me” (themselves) vs. “You” or “We” (the American people). The ratio of “Me” references to “You” references is what we call “The Yu:Mi” factor. The most inspired and inspirational writers understand the importance of hitting at least a 3:1 Yumi ratio. Senator Clinton hangs in the balance; her speech contains as many “You” phrases as “Me” phrases, at four each. Senator McCain blows the balance entirely; talking about himself a full eleven times and about us merely once. Okay, two if you’re being generous and giving him “this great and good nation” as one more. Still, 2:11? Hmmm. Now look at Senator Obama’s words. Clearly, he understands the power of the Yumi factor. His opening remarks contain 12 references to “You”, and a mere three about himself, or “Me”. He has hit on a fantastic Yumi factor of 12:3, or 4:1. Not only is this Yumi, it’s delicious. Witness the results: Both McCain and Clinton have urged voters to focus on the issues, not on Obama’s fancy speeches and inspirational rallies. Evidently, they see the effect of Obama’s words on the crowds. People feel what he is saying and they connect on a very personal, almost primal level to his words. Politics aside, it’s powerful stuff. Sometimes good writing comes down to old fashioned math. Learn to write about your audience, not about you. Really, it’s just plain Yumi.

This is a very common and confusing question. Which one is better and why ? Both are better ,well it depends on what you are trying to achieve. Background: Blogger started in 1999 as a free, hosted blog service and has been credited for “pioneering the format”. The concept has not changed since then but it was purchased by Google in 2003. Wordpress was started in 2001 as a non-hosted blog publishing platform. Wordpress.com debuted in 2005 as a hosted version of the original software. How to start: It is very easy to get start. The sign up involves choosing a name that will be the prefix for your blog’s address. Wordpress blogs have domains with the wordpress.com suffix and Blogger blogs have the blogspot.com suffix. You choose the name in front of the suffix. Blogger (Blogspot): * It’s run by Google so you know your blog/journal will be safe with them. * It allows you to integrate with Google Adsense. This allows you to make money with your blog without having to know anything about the online advertising business. * widgets ,the great tool - Blogger offers widgets that you can add to your blog. There are hundreds of widgets that various people have developed and they are all free of charge to use and easy to plug into your blogger blog. * It’s so easy! They know about what people want out of a blog. They know that the average user has no idea about html code, php, or database programming experience. So they give you a one click option after login to begin typing. All you have to do is type in the title - then type in the body. The labels/tags are optional, but it’s helpful for people who want to find similar posts on your blog. * You can create as many as blogs and it’s free! There is no limit of blogs you have on the blogspot domain. This is a nice feature. * Google love their own services so it spiders well in the search engines and they also like the URL of blogspot. So if you do nothing else besides post on your blog you could get Google search traffic because it could rank well if you have well written posts with great content. * You can add a domain to your blog - through the CNAME records of your domain name - you can point blog.domainname.com to your Blogger blog. This is really easy to do. WordPress: * Two types of WordPress blogs - One is a free hosted service while the other is the software download. The hosted service is located on WordPress.com while the software dowload is run off WordPress.org. We’ll be talking about the WordPress.com software. * It’s easy to use, but extremely robust - much like the downloaded software. * You can create multiple blogs on WordPress as well. * If you write good posts and follow the guidelines - you can get good traffic from WordPress.com tag searches. When you post an entry - they allow your post to be found by the tags on a global tagging system. This enables anyone to click on a tag and view all recent posts. This is also good for links because the links are in the RSS feed of that tag. - Be Careful though - this is not to be abused. It’s just so others can find your blog. If you get too spammy - they will kick you out of the tag searches and for good reason! * Cheap upgrade to add a domain to your blog. $15/year adds a domain name to your blog and removes ads. * They are “almost” ad free. They only display ads to certain users - they use google adsense and they are non-intrusive. They don’t show up to everyone and if you own the account - it will most likely not show up for you either. They almost always show up if the referring site is a search engine. Next time we talk about wordpress blog software (king of blogs) Summary: Of the three popular blog-services , I’ve found WordPress by far the best to suit my needs. It is organised, simple/user-friendly, growing in features… and open source. There’s not much more that I need. Check it out my wordpress blog. BloggerGuide
